Botox

  • Botox is an injectable drug made from botulinum toxin type A, produced by the bacterium Clostridium Botulinum.  Small doses, injected into targeted areas are considered safe.

  • Botox is one of the most widely used cosmetic treatments proven to reduce and smooth lines and wrinkles and enhance emotional well-being.

  • There has been much confusion and misinformation about Botox.  Injections are safe when administered by a trained medical professional.

  • When used properly, Botox should not give you a frozen face.  A medically trained practitioner will carry out a full consultation to ensure optimum effects.

  • Botox results last between 3-6 months.

Dermal Fillers

  • Your face changes over time and dermal fillers allow you to control your looks subtly as you age.  It produces a natural looking result that will not affect your facial expression.  The result of a single treatment can be seen instantly and can last for 6-18 months.  Many people report skin looks smooth, hydrated and refreshed.

  • I use JUVÉDERM®, the most widely used dermal filler on the market.  It is a soft gel consisting of stabilised, non-animal hyaluronic acid.  The gel is tissue friendly and closely resembles the hyaluronic acid that exists naturally in the body.  It is long-lasting, but not permanent, and is gradually broken down by the body over time.

  • Anaesthetic is available for a pain free procedure but pain relief may not always be necessary.  Some people may experience a little redness at the injection site and some swelling and redness immediately after the treatment, but this is usually mild.

  • Yes, the aesthetic results are immediate.  Dermal fillers look their best after 1 month.

  • No. You can have an appointment in your lunch hour then get right back to your normal routine.

  • Millions of dermal filler treatments have been performed, and product-related reactions are very rare.  However, as with any injection, reactions can occur.  These include redness, swelling, pain, itching, bruising or tenderness at the injection site.  After lip enhancement, lips may swell for up to 1 week, but this should subside in 2-3 days.  If you a ha more pronounced reaction, or your side effects last longer than a week please contact me.
